The MBM 87M is one of our favorites in the medium volume category. It differs from other smaller machines in that it can perform all folds on paper from 4" x 5" to 8.5" x 14" (legal size) up to 40# bond except that it will not do a church fold on legal size paper (where the folds are at 5.5" and 11"-- see the Martin Yale 1501X or a large format machine). PLEASE NOTE: IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GLOSSY OR COATED STOCK.
The MBM 87M is also easier to set up than most machines. The paper stops are color coded on the fold plates making for easier setup. (To set the machine for the fold you want, you move the bar on the 2 fold plates to the marked location for the type of paper and fold you are performing.) The 87M folding machine stops automatically when the last sheet is folded, and has a large knob on the side that is turned for easy clearing of jams. It is lighter, more compact and quieter than most machines. You can also manually feed up to 3 sheets of paper, stapled or not in a slot.
The MBM 87M is rated to process (duty cycle) up to 25,000 sheets per month and folds at the rate of up to 120 sheets per minute.
